Reedsville, WV – The rain seemed the stop just in time for the start of the quad race on Sunday. Just long enough for the riders to get to the line, talk about the off season and listen to the national anthem. The A class was loaded. 2007 champ Brent Sturdivant was ready with his new Suzuki ride. Zac and Gabe Phillips were also ready, along with Eric Hoyland and David Whitacre. The rain came around 2 or 3 laps in and never really stopped for any worthy amount of time. Goggles were a joke, gloves were a hindrance and the track was hurting.

The A class traded spots throughout the first half of the race. One rider would progress, but then get gung up. This seemed to be the theme of the day and it definitely applied to the quad racers. Zac Phillips hauled in 3rd overall/Open A for the day. He talked with Roy Dains about how frustrating a track like this can be, “I had terrible luck. I just felt like every time I would make one right move, I would mess up ten times. The first three laps, I bet I got stuck ten times every lap.” This is the A class riders! That speaks to the track conditions. Phillips actually was pleased with his Honda ride, but states his bad luck was the issue this day, “My luck is always the problem. The quad actually was pretty good. I had to borrow some suspension off of a buddy of mine just to ride today. I broke mine last weekend.”
