2/17/08 - Koontz Adventures HS @ Bike Barn

Reedsville, WV – The youth bikes were the first pack of racers to really hit the Preston County woods. The conditions were very slick for the young riders. Zach Nolan was the sole Big Wheel class entry. Nolan dominated and lapped the entire field in terms of overall. He even did so without goggles as he found out it was a lost cause for the day. In the post race interview with Roy Dains, he explains the track conditions, his vision and his bike, “The bike is running good. The reason I did not have my goggles on was because I put them on and the string quit working. Then I took them off. I got them fixed and got them back on. Then, they broke again. After that, I said I wasn’t dealing with them. The bike is running good. The track is good. It was a little wet with some mud, but I tried to miss some of the mud holes. I am completely dry other than my feet, so I feel pretty good”. Nolan ended up riding five laps in 51 minutes. This race was a warm up for Nolan. He was also entering the Big Bike race soon after.
